Nearly 90 percent of the calls that Surprise Fire Fighters respond to are medical in nature.  In a coordinated effort with Southwest Ambulance, and the other Regional Automatic Aid jurisdictions, Surprise residents will receive the closest appropriate units available regardless of jurisdiction. This means that if a Sun City West fire truck is closer than a Surprise fire truck, then they will be sent to provide care. This essentially triples the amount of available units in the Surprise area to better provide the best and fastest care possible.
